For those of you who are familiar with the street magic of the likes of David Blaine, then the next level up would be the magical stylings of Cyril Takayama (known as マジセロ majisero in Japan, and Mr. Sero in Korea), a Japanese-French (lives in California) magician who often appears on Korean and Japanese TV. He does speak a little Japanese, but for the most part presents his tricks in English, he's actually quite a funny guy.
He has a large repertoir of tricks, sharing many with the aforementioned David Blaine (who I find to be a bit of a weirdo), mainly card tricks, mind tricks, levitation. But he is has a whole lot more as well.
The thing about most of his tricks is that he performs them in plain view. One such example is one of his more amazing and mind-boggling tricks, where he drinks all the water from a clear plastic bottle, then refills it magically before an audience. Other examples show him inserting things into wine bottles or aluminum cans without opening them, or having any time to literally prepare such a feat.
Some of his tricks are just honestly impossible, yet he performs them in front of an audience. I have a hunch that this guy is a real life Hiro Nakamura, mixed with Matt Parkman. For the uninitiated, I think he's really able to freeze time and read minds. It's illogical but it seems like the only explanation. It's so hard to figure out it's driving me crazy!
